In the second half of 2021, a solution was needed to tackle the surge in #COVID19 cases to prevent overburdening the acute hospital system with COVID-19 patients.
The @MOHSingapore, supported by the Singapore Armed Forces and other partners, conceptualised and rolled out various COVID-19 Treatment Facilities (CTFs), which helped to ensure that COVID-19 patients who required higher level of care had access to safe and appropriate care without overly straining acute hospitals.
In recognition of their contribution towards helping Singaporeans and businesses during this trying period, the One Public Service Award was presented to the team during the Public Sector Transformation (COVID-19) Awards Ceremony for its excellent work and exemplary inter-agency initiative. We speak to MAJ (Dr) Andrew Tan who tells us more about the SAF’s Medical Corps involvement in the CTFs.
