The Anambra State government has made provision for a new housing allowance for lawyers as part of incentive to boost their morale.

The governor of the State, Willie Obiano, said on Monday that the allowance would take effect by the end of September.

Governor Obiano also approved the appointment of eight new judges into the state judicial system to help accelerate dispensation of justice and de-congestion of crowded prisons across the state.

The governor announced this during a mass service to mark the legal year of the state judiciary at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka.

The procession of the members of the judiciary of Anambra State at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka was quite grand as they marched in their rank and file with the Chief Judge and the state governor coming last.
