Mikaela Shiffrin has had a tough Olympics, wiping out in multiple events, and failing to make the medal podium in Beijing, but it was a super kind gesture from fellow competitor, Sofia Goggia, that nearly brought her to tears. On Wednesday, Italian skier Sofia Goggia gave Mikaela a pair of her skis with the note "Fly Mika, You Can." Mikeala and Sofia are both sponsored by ski manufacturer Atomic, so they can share a pool of skis. The empowering note comes after Mikaela shared the offensive and negative comments she’s been receiving on social media after she has struggled to medal at the Olympics. In her own social media post, a hurt Mikaela wrote that she felt "like a joke" and the comments did hurt.
