So, today we are out and about walking in the village and civil parish of Bibury, which is located in Gloucestershire, England. The village is located 6 1/2 miles (10.5 km) northeast of Cirencester.
Bibury is arguable one the most iconic tourist destinations in the Cotswolds and receives many-many thousands of visitors every year from all over the globe. The one thing that really makes Bibury stand out is the world famous Arlington Row, which is a row of cottages originally built in 1380 as a monastic wool store and then converted in the 17th century to weavers cottages. Today, Arlington Row is managed and owned by the National Trust.
Besides Arlington Row, Bibury has other attractions including the Trout Farm.
Previously, viewers have asked me to film here but I must confess that I have been putting it off somewhat as I was not sure I could do this beautiful place the justice that it deserves (I shall leave it with you to decide if I did or not!). As I started this walk I felt an overwhelming sense of nervousness but also excitement too. The night before I had a good route planned around the village, in fact the walking route would of lasted well over an hour but in typical OAAW style as daylight broke I found there was a road closure at the top of Arlington Row, this completely scuppered the planned route, so with this in mind I had to come up with a new route within a matter of minutes as I would be working against the clock due to this place getting extremely busy very quickly!
I do hope you enjoyed this walk and as always, thanks for your company & walking with me.
