The ancients of this land (IRAN) used the word “jinn” when they could not describe the existence of anything with the knowledge of their time. For example, the use of the name “Kal-Jenny” for a valley in Tabas was due to the fact that its origin was accompanied by many question marks.
There is a large land in the center of Iran that is inaccessible to our ancestors due to various phenomena such as vast sands or lands that become swampy due to rain, and many attempts to cross it have probably failed. Perhaps for this reason, they used the word “sand jinn” for it, which indicates the existence of unusual phenomena in this land that prevent humans from passing through it.
Where is the Rig-e Jen desert?
Rig-e Jen is a large region between the provinces of Isfahan and Semnan, which includes very high and wide sand dunes and dry lands. The area was finally opened by adventurers in the late 20th century, and it became clear that there were no abnormalities in the desert other than natural factors that make it difficult to travel to the area.
