A question I’m asked quite often is what gear do I use for shooting sports coverage especially from those who are just staring out in sports photography.
Over the last year I’ve managed to get accreditation to many large sports events and there’s a lot of expensive gear in my bag, but don’t let that put you off because you can still do this on a smaller budget. It’s just knowing the right gear and correct camera set up.
Hopefully this helps anyone who’s new to sports photography and is unsure of the right type of gear to buy. Like I said you don’t have to have to have exactly what I have and also, you don’t need to get the very latest mirrorless technology, you can still do this with older and more budget friendly equipment.
Please take the time to view another video I made that walks through the entire sport photography workflow from the set up of your metadata, files names and folders, ftp connections and code replacement descriptions, to actually shooting the action and then uploading through FTP to your clients ready to be used for editorial use. This is all done with a software program called PhotoMechanic.
Thanks again for watching don’t forget to like, share and subscribe and stay tuned for more videos.
