(11 Sep 2016) Airbus Helicopters was set to build civilian and military helicopters at a new plant in Romania.
French President Francois Hollande is expected to inaugurate the production line during his visit to Romania this week.
The plant is located in the industrial town of Ghimbav, where Romanian helicopters were produced in the communist era.
Although the factory was set up in 2002, it has recently set up a new Airbus division.
The first H215 helicopter is expected to roll off the assembly line next year.
By 2020, the factory is expected to be able to produce 15 helicopters a year.
Airbus Helicopters is a division of Airbus Group, producing helicopters.
