I added another species to my list: Costa Rica's infamous Machaca. We loaded up the trucks and headed to the river to raft, fly fish, and float around while enjoying the wilderness. Machaca are a relative of piranha and one of Central America's most thrilling species to hook into. While they are small, they are known for always putting up a good fight, similar to a Tarpon. Machaca are also notorious for flying out of the water, trying to unhook themselves in an acrobatic manner. Say Machaca 5x fast and that's the kind of energy needed to tame these fish! 🐡

Fly fishing can be challenging, but it's a type of fishing I respect so much. The skillset required is definitely technical and one I would love to develop more. Don't miss out on the rope swing highlights at around 7 minutes into this episode! Such a fun day on the river with the boys! 😎
