While both islands offer some of the most stunning vistas in the world, they are unique in their ways. Being the second largest Hawaiian island, Maui has a diverse landscape of beaches, jungles, and volcanoes while also known for its luxury resorts. Kauai feels much more laid back, featuring stunning landscapes and a break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I'm very lucky to be able to visit both islands, and hopefully, this video can help you decide where you want to go.

🤓 Some tips from my experiences
📍Haleakala National Park
Haleakala National Park entrance fees include visiting the summit district and the Kipahulu district. It's $30.00 per private vehicle and valid for 3 days- you can save some money if you plan your trip to visit both areas within 3 days.

📍The Waihee Ridge Trail parking lot gets full very quickly, so I would recommend arriving early. We arrived before the park opened.

📍Hāʻena State Park Reservation (to hike the Kalalau Trail): [ Ссылка ]
We reserved the Parking + Entry Pass ($20.00) right when it was available. Dates open 30 days prior at 12 a.m. Hawaii time. I woke up at 3am to reserve 😂 You also have to choose a timeframe for your visit.
The trail can be extremely slippery and dangerous. We would probably opt out of the hike if the weather was bad. We only hiked to Hanakāpī’ai Beach.

🛏️ Lodging (MOST expensive part of the trip)
Watch out for all the cleaning fees, service fees, taxes... They REALLY add up.
