In this video we walk the Sendero Gerald Brenan, below the village of Yegen in La Alpujarra, Southern Spain. This short walk was made famous by the author Geral Brenan, as it is reputedly his favourite afternoon stroll. Only a short walk, but it does invlove some steep ascent/descent and some loos uneven surfaces. The path is also prone to being washed away in heavy rain, and waymarkers can be easily missed (as we found out despite having walked the route several times before!)
The prehistoric hill fort at the lowest point of the walk is said to have been occupied during Iron Age, Roman and Moorish eras. Unfortunately at the time of our walk the route up onto the fort itself was closed due to some archaeological work.
