Are high-tech trains the future of private luxury travel? French yacht designer Thierry Gaugain sure thinks so-- that’s why he’s designed the G Train, a $350 million luxury locomotive that will be custom built for one lucky owner. Move over private jets and superyachts-- because trains are finally cool again.
The G Train will feature a secret garden, spacious suites, and opulent guest cabins. There will be bars, dining cars, and an event and party space with a fold-out terrace. There’s even space onboard for entire concerts to be held. Guests won’t have to give up any of the comforts of home-- there’s a gym onboard and a spa.
The train will be 1,300 feet long and have 14 train cars-- including a “toy chest” in the caboose with room to store vehicles and boats. It’s unique gold-hue is thanks to the next generation SmartGlass technology that will allow guests to make the windows transparent or opaque for more privacy. They can even change the seasons or scenery they experience while travelling to create their own custom journey.
The G Train is still a work in progress until some billionaire out there decides to order one.
