Shakespeare’s Rare "First Folios" Printed In 1632 Goes Public
The Folger Shakespeare Library in Capitol Hill, which has all the collections of Shakespeare, will allow people to view the 82 copies of its “First Folio” editions of the collected works of William Shakespeare from June 21. They were stored away in a refrigerated vault at the library. The library's Director of Education Dr. Peggy O'Brien said, "the First Folio is an old book that was printed in 1623, seven years after Shakespeare died. Two of the guys in his acting company decided that they should put all of his plays together, 36 plays together, and print them all in one book."
