With the recent increase in school kidnappings across Nigeria, students are concerned for their safety and education. For International Day of the Girl this year, young women from across the country met to discuss the challenges they face and how to advocate for solutions.
In a three-day workshop with Malala Fund, they learned advocacy skills like storytelling and drafted a declaration asking the Nigerian government for policy changes. On the last day, they presented their demands to local leaders and helped ensure the government's strategies for change are informed by girls.
