JAMMU: An impressive Nagar Kirtan was taken out on the eve of 350th birth anniversary of 10th Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh here, today.
Thousands of devout Sikhs drawn from different parts of Jammu city and its outskirts participated in the Nagar Kirtan which was taken out from Gurudwara Yadgar, Chand Nagar. The birth anniversary of Guru Maharaj is falling on January 5 and traditionally every year a Nagar Kirtan is taken out in the city by Sikh devotees some days prior to it.
Organized by District Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (DGPC), the Nagar Kirtan passed via Vinayak Bazar, Dogra Chowk, Bikram Chowk, Asia Crossing, Green Belt Gandhi Nagar, Hospital road, Gandhi Nagar, Gole Market, Shiva Ji Chowk, Khalsa Chowk and culminated at Gurudwara Singh Sabha Nanak Nagar with Ardas by Sikh Sangat.
The devotees, were reciting Bhajan Kirtan, raising slogans in praise of Guru Ji Maharaj and were chanting “Jo Bolay So Nihal Satsri Akaal” enroute.
