The Abbot 105mm self-propelled artillery gun served with the British Army from 1965 to 1985, and for longer with the Indian Army. Around 230 were built. The L13A1 gun could fire a variety of ammunition and had a range of 10 miles (17km) – the distance was controlled by the size of the propellant charge. Weighing in at 16.5 tonnes, the vehicle had a top speed of 29mph and could swim at 3 knots with a flotation screen erected around the hull.
This Abbot was at the Tanks, Trucks and Firepower show in 2024.
