Hey everyone! Today we are making these Pokeball macarons to celebrate the release of Pokemon X and Y on October 12th! For a challenge, try to make other types of Pokeballs too! Macarons aren't as difficult as many people may think, so be sure to give these a try! Enjoy, and don't forget to check out everyone else's Pokemon videos as well!

Recipe adapted from Entertaining With Beth ([ Ссылка ])
Makes about 24 completed macaron sandwiches

Ingredients:

200g powdered sugar
120g almond flour (Bob's Red Mill works great, or grind your own)
3 egg whites
50g granulated sugar
Red gel food coloring

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300 F

1. Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar into a medium bowl. Set aside
2. Beat egg whites until foamy, then add in granulated sugar. Whip 8-10 min until stiff peaks form.
3. Gently fold in dry ingredients until just combined. (If not dying macarons, continue to mix until batter is ready - see below)
4. Divide batter into two bowls, and add red gel food coloring to one. Fold until batter flows off of spatula like magma.
5. Finish mixing white batter, and load both into separate pastry bags.
6. If desired, use a circle template to draw 1.5" circles.
7. Pipe red batter into a semicircle, and fill in other half with white batter. (Note: Cut your pastry bag tip smaller than you think you will need! This helps control the flow of batter better when piping a shaped macaron)
8. Let rest on counter for 20-30 minutes, and bake for 20 min.
9. Allow macarons to cool, and pipe black icing line through diameter of macaron. Add on white icing dot, and trace dot with black icing around the outside.
10. Fill macarons with whatever you please, I used buttercream here.
11. Enjoy!
