Dramatic video showed the fireball being launched into the air in Derby city centre. Images show thick clouds of smoke billowing from the rooftops as firefighters raced to tackle the blaze. An eyewitness described the blast at Norman House in Friar Gate as 'absolutely terrifying' and the 'scariest moment of my life'. The fire is thought to have started in the plant room on the roof of a six storey building, according to Derbyshire Police.
