(28 May 2015) Nigeria's outgoing president Goodluck Jonathan presented handover notes to President-elect Muhammadu Buhari at a ceremony in Abuja on Thursday.
In his speech, Jonathan welcomed the new president to the palace and highlighted the activities of the militant group Boko Haram in the country's northeast as a major setback during his rule, that Nigerians face.
Jonathan is the first incumbent president to concede defeat to an opposition party.
After the ceremony, Jonathan showed Buhari around his new quarters.
