According to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, the Vande Bharat Express will be able to travel from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasargode in 5.5 hours within the next 36-48 months. This will be achieved by straightening the tracks and reducing the number of curves, allowing the train to reach speeds of up to 130 kmph, compared to the current speed of 80 to 90 kmph.
