To determine whether bacteria is sensitive to any antimicrobial, we can evaluate the metabolic activity by fluorometry assay using resazurin. Resazurin is used to quantify viable cells once metabolic active cells reduce the non-fluorescent resazurin into a reduced resorufin, which is fluorescent and can be meassured in relative fluorescent units.
