The 1st edition of "Economics without borders" was held between October 17-19, 2022 and was centered around consumer inclusion and technological solutions supporting the global economy, with particular emphasis on practices used in Africa and Europe.

The aim of the Economics without borders project is to popularize science on an international scale by organizing unique events, which will provide an opportunity for scientific debates, as well as presentations of scientific achievements, research and work of outstanding scientists from around the world.
The project's main activities include three editions of events featuring:
–scientific debates
–master-student meetings
–Global Village
–speeches popularizing science among young people and the local community
The events are designed to present economic and socio-cultural issues, including aspects of social responsibility and sustainable development, from the perspective of 6 continents (2 for each edition): Europe and Africa; North America and Asia; Australia and South America. In addition, each edition will be accompanied by a Global Village showcasing culture of different continents and master-student meetings.
Invited speakers are prominent scientists from countries such as: Egypt, Spain, France, USA, South Korea, Australia, Chile, Portugal and India. They have been recognized for their exceptional achievements in the field of economic sciences, in particular their work in implementing innovative scientific, teaching and business solutions.
The events organized as part of the project are held entirely in English, giving them a universal and international dimension. “Economics without borders” is a one-of-a-kind, large-scale initiative during which the University of Economics in Katowice becomes Poland's economic hub. It is a place to be, where high-class researchers from around the world share their knowledge, participate in debates and exchange ideas and experience. The project helps identify new opportunities and hidden potential, as well as foster dialogue and engage a wide range of stakeholders, while increasing the efficiency of ongoing activities in the area of economics research and teaching.
