A look at Stockport Railway Station on the afternoon of Saturday 4th June 2022.
Stockport is located on the Manchester spur of the west coast main line and is served by Virgin trains on the London to Manchester route. It is also served by Arriva Crosscountry with trains going to and from Manchester to southerly destinations such as Birmingham New Street and Bournemouth, First Transpennine Express between Cleethorpes and Manchester, East Midlands trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Norwich and Transport for Wales between Manchester and South Wales destinations such as Cardiff and Swansea. Local stopping trains to Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe, Hazel Grove, Buxton, Chester, Southport and Alderley Edge are provided by Northern.
At the end of this video LMS Jubilee class 6P 4-6-0 number 45596 'Bahamas' is seen passing with the return working of 'The Buxton Spa Express' from Buxton to Ealing Broadway.
