I had other plans for yesterday evening, but a surprise HUGE load of woodchips means adjusting my schedule to get the chips out of the road and into the garden. It also means adding fertility and order to a garden in a level of late-season chaos.
Permaculture design must be sustainable in the context of our lives: when unexpected garden, farm, livestock chores add an extra burden to our schedule, it’s important to find balance and learn what we can let go of, and where we can press pause to find balance and keep our permaculture goals achievable.
