Close collaboration between Explorations de Monaco and the Lycée français de Barcelone.
Explorations de Monaco and Lycée français de Barcelone forge close collaboration.
The activities carried out in Barcelona during the week of the Second Meeting of the Decade of the Ocean for Ocean Sciences in the Service of Sustainable Development enabled the teams from Explorations de Monaco and the Lycée français de Barcelone to deepen their exchanges, already initiated prior to this major event for the preparation and organization of the educational visits and workshops that took place on the Port Vell.
These exchanges led to a number of concrete extensions:
- making the Spanish and Catalan versions of the exhibition available to the French lycée for re-use and activities in June 2O24 at the lycée, with the intention of making the exhibition available to all classes at the lycée, as well as to other Spanish classes in Barcelona who didn't have the opportunity to see the exhibition at the Port Vell in April,
- contact between the French high school and the managers and biologists of the Montgri Natural Park, the Baix Ter and the Medes Islands Marine Protected Area, for the organization of an educational visit designed to highlight the importance of the existence of protected areas,
- the online publication of "mood bills" on the Explorations de Monaco website, written by teachers and students involved in the French Lycée's maritime-related classes,
- A feasibility study by Lycée Français managers and teachers into the potential creation of an Educational Marine Area in Barcelona, an educational concept that is gradually gaining ground outside French borders.
A fruitful collaboration from an educational point of view, opening up exciting prospects for the school's teachers and students, with the 3rd United Nations Conference on the Ocean and the development of classes on maritime issues around the Mediterranean in their sights.
