CHILDREN HELP DESIGN HIGH FASHION
Luxury brands pulled out the stops in Paris on Monday with creative displays designed to ward off fears of recession that have cast a pall over the retail sector.
Rebel British designer Vivienne Westwood thumbed her nose at convention, enlisting primary school pupils to hand-paint her designs with an eco-friendly theme.
The class from Nottingham, England, let their paintbrushes loose on a cream velvet jacket, a navy taffeta dress and boiled Shetland knits, with results that veered between tribal art and the paintings of U.S. artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.
