#girivalam #arunachalam today we are gonna climb uo the arunachala hill and visit the skandashramam and virupaksha cave Also, we’re going to visit some secret ashrams and ancient temples along the way. We’re starting the hike from behind the Arunachalesvara Temple. After a few kilometers, we’ve reached an ancient Siddha Jeeva Samadhi, or final resting place, of Jadai Swami Njanadesigar. This is the cave where he meditated for almost 48 years! On December 5th, 1927, he attained enlightenment—or mukti—right here. Besides the cave, there’s a small temple under a neem tree with several deities and some Shiva Lingas. There’s also a beautiful painting of God Muruga on the wall of the ashram. They offer free lunch as prasadam here every day, which is a blessing for pilgrims. There’s also a viewpoint nearby with a stunning view of the main temple!
Moving forward, we come across a small temple under a tree, dedicated to God Ganesha. Inside, you’ll find photos of Ramana Maharshi, Kavyaganda Ganapati Muni, and other spiritual figures. If we go a little further, we reach the actual cave where Ramana Maharshi meditated during the summer. Inside, we can see an ancient Narmada Shivalinga and a Goddess Aadi Shakti Vigraha, along with other deities like Narasimha, Hanuman Ji, and a murthi of God Shiva and Goddess Durga.
Nearby, there’s also a small God Murugan temple. On the way, you’ll see lots of friendly monkeys here! Walking along this forest path, you can truly feel the spiritual energy of God Shiva and Goddess Aadi Parashakti on this hill. The air here is cool and fresh, much cooler than in town. But drinking water is hard to find, so definitely carry a water bottle with you—and keep it hidden from the monkeys, they love taking it!
Now, we’ve arrived at the Guhai Namah Shivaya Temple. This place holds the Jeeva Samadhi of Guhai Namah Shivaya, a revered saint. Inside, there’s a peaceful cave with a Shiva Linga where many come to meditate.
The calm atmosphere makes this ashramam perfect for connecting deeply with the divine.
After spending some time in meditation here, we’re continuing on our journey. Honestly, this whole experience has been incredible, and I hope you’re enjoying this spiritual adventure with us.
In our next video, we’ll be doing a complete tour of the Giri Pradakshinam, the sacred walk around Arunachala Hill. We’ll explore the eight sacred Lingas around the hill and visit more ancient temples along the way. If you enjoyed this video, comment “Shiva Shakti” below, and stay tuned for the next episode!
