It is the fastest train between Cheenai and Kerala, it travels with a top speed of 130 kmph in several stretches between Aarkonam Junction and Salem Junction. It is a LHB rake, with 9 sleepers, 3 general class coaches, 6 three tier AC, 1 Second AC and One dedicated First Class AC coach. This train operated by Salem division. Normally starts from platform 7 from Cheenai Central. This train runs at very punctual timings, and less chances of getting late. This train was earlier named as No.20 Madras Mail, which is also a name of famous Malayalam movie of actor Mohanlal and Mammootty.
