Rising in Brazil and flowing through Bolivia and Paraguay before it reaches the Atlantic in Argentina: The Rio Paraguay is one of the most important water ways for transportation and logistics in South America. Called “Water that goes to water" by the locals, a network of ports is located along the river as it meanders southwards. The ports focus on container handling and turn-over. One of the most successful pioneers of container handling in Paraguay is port operator Ricardo dos Santos, Executive Director of Terport San Antonio and Villeta. At both ports, Terport relies on Liebherr fixed cargo cranes.
