In this review, I'm going to take a look at two beers from Barrique Brewing and Blending, and it's their Hunspach and Sticke Bier. The former is a French-style Pilsner, while the latter is a German-style Altbier. This is another "showcase" review, where I review two different beers from the same brewery that aren't similar style-wise. I've heard nothing but good things about Barrique over the past few years, and both of these beers sound like fun, so let's see how they are! (Sticke Bier) - The term "Sticke" comes from the dialect in Düsseldorf, where this style originated and means "secret." This name hints at the beer's origins, where it was originally brewed as a special, limited edition by brewers who would slightly adjust the recipe, typically adding more malt and hops, leading to a richer and more complex flavor profile. Sticke Bier is rich and full-bodied, deep amber with caramel sweetness, and pumpernickel.
