The Lowline will be the world's first underground park. Conceived by James Ramsey and Dan Barasch, The Lowline is a plan to use innovative solar technology to illuminate an abandoned trolley terminal on the Lower East Side of New York City. Their vision is a stunning underground park, providing a beautiful respite and a cultural attraction in one of the world’s most dense, exciting urban environments.
We visited James in The Lowline Lab, which is near to the sight of the proposed Lowline. And yes, it's sort of like the opposite of the Highline, but much more technologically focused.
