Parra sarpanch, Delilah Lobo, distributed sapplings of fruit-bearing trees, including coconut, mango and cashew, in the village on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Lobo urged the villagers to plant the sapplings in their gardens and backyards to replenish the green cover of the village where trees are lost to development.
Let our village look cleaner and greener in the future, Lobo told the villagers who had gathered to collect the sapplings.
