Bhubaneswar (OdishaLIVE Bureau): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate Paradip Refinery, 11th refinery of the country, to the nation at Paradip on 7 February 2016. Designed to process 100% sulphur along with low-cost heavy crude oil and various petroleum products to meet the burgeoning energy demands of the country.
Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Govt. of India, shall grace the dedication event at Paradip, with the Prime Minister.
Not only it will boost economic and infrastructural development in the vicinity area, it would act as gateway for prospects in eastern region of the country.
Armed with a unique and state-of-the-art INDMAX Unit developed by the team of scientists and engineers of R&D Department of Indian Oil Corporation, this Unit would produce 44% of LPG, highest from such plant.
Besides this Paradip Refinery has also chalked out the plan to set up 700 KTA Polypropylene Plant, Ethylene Recovery Unit/Mono-Ethylene Glycol, Para-Xylene, PTA and Synthetic Ethanol at Paradip.
Mr Sanjiv Singh, Director (Refineries), Indian Oil, revealed in a press meet held on 19 January 2016.
The press meet was attended by senior officials of the company like Mr. Ramjee Ram, Executive Director (I/C) and Dr. Ajit Pathak, GA (Admin., CC & CSR).
