HOW can NON-NATIVE speakers teach English in CHINA? Loophole explained - MUST WATCH!
Although I have been reluctant to make this video, in this episode I finally reveal the most common loophole used by agents and/or employers to hire non-native English teachers in China.
Due to the applicant's inability to read Chinese (and sometimes willingness to defraud), at times, your application papers submitted before SAFEA or Labour Bureau are filled out for you by the employer and/or agent.
This means THEY get to describe your occupation in your contract, work permit, and work visa as something other than English teacher.
This makes the issuing of the work permit and work visa a lot simpler.
So you DO get a work permit and work visa (later changed to residence permit).
But it does not pass the smell test. If cops come to your place of work and check your papers against your REAL occupation, you'll be in trouble.
The school will get a fine and a slap in the wrist while you may face deportation. In the meantime, your agent will conveniently stop replying to your calls.
So... Do come here!
But do so with your eyes wide open.
Know that you are participating in a scheme designed to make agents and schools loads of money while you are taking risks with your freedom and your travel records, for the rest of your life.
