Snow is Falling is an amazing non-fiction text for kids to learn about winter and snow! There are so many activities that kids can do based off of this book!

Here is link to worksheets I have created for the book! There are also three experiments below that you could do with your student or child!

First, children can complete the experiment in the book with two thermometers! Put one in the snow and hang one in a nearby tree, but not directly in the sun! Come back later to see which one is warmer.

The book also highlights some other experiments. Children can take black and white fabric outside with their two thermometers. Sandwich a thermometer between both fabrics and set them in the sun! Come back later to see if a certain color of fabric will help you stay warmer outside.

Children can also put the same number of ice cubes in 2 bowls, one with salt and one without salt, to see if salt really does help ice melt faster!
