Forest Martyrs Day is Observed today, at the Forest Martyrs Pylon at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyd. Sri.A.Indrakaran Reddy, Hon’ble Minister Forests, Environment, Science and Technology , Law and Endowments, Telangana State offered floral tributes and placed wreath at the pylon. Smt. Shanti kumari , IAS, Prl. Chief Secretary , EFS&T, Govt of Telangana , Smt. R.Sobha, IFS, Prl.Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF), T.S., Sri. Raghuveer, IFS, PCCF, VC & MD, Forest Development corporation,Sri. R.M.Dobrial, IFS, PCCF (SF) , Sri. Lokesh Jayaswal, IFS, PCCF (CAMPA),Sri. Pargein,IFS, APCCF(Dev)Sri.Swargam Srinivas, IFS,APCCF(Vig) Dr.Chandrashekar Reddy, IFS,APCCF/CF, Hyderabad along with Dr.SidhanandKukrety, IFS,Adl. PCCF (Prod) & Director of Zoo Parks, T.S., Smt.N.Kshitija, IFS, Curator, NZP, Hyd and Smt. A.Nagamani, Dy.Curator , NZP, Hydand other Forest and Zoo staff also paid tributes to the Forest Martyrs who laid down their in lives in protection of Forest and Wildlife.
Speaking on the occasion Sri. A.Indrakaran Reddy, Honble Minister for EFS&T, Law and Endowments, Telangana State said that the Forest Martyrs who laid down their lives in conservation and protection of Forests and Wildlife will be remembered forever.He Further said that Corona pandemic has restricted all the citizens to their homes but the officers and staff of Forest department stood on their toes in service of Forests even in this difficult situation which is appreciable.The Government has taken steps for conserving the Forests and is Imposing strict punishments under the PD Act on the culprits commuting Forests offences.
