Green manuring is the best strategy for increasing soil organic matter content and to improve the soil texture and water holding capacity. After harvesting of wheat it's a precious time for rice and maize growers to get benefit from the fallow land. For this purpose use 20 kg sesbania seed per acre. First of all plough the field once and irrigate. After irrigation spread 20 kg Jantar seed per acre by broadcasting twice once in East -West direction and then in North -South direction for uniform distribution of Sesbania seed. When the crop age is 40-50 days Rotavate into the soil and after burying into soil irrigate the field and also fertigate 10-15 kg Urea fertilizer per acre for efficient results.The practice of rotavation should be completed at least 20-30 days before sowing of next crop also.
