Super8 home movies are a nostalgic treat, but not easy to share. In this video I compare three methods of digitizing movies:
1. Shooting Video of a film being projected onto a silver screen.
2. Shooting video of a film being projected onto an Ambico V-0625 conversion box.
3. Scanning a film with a Wolverine MovieMaker MM100 Film Scanner.
In order to optimize each method, I use two different film projectors, a Bell & Howell 1620, and a Sankyo P-1500. My camcorder is a Panasonic HC-V180. I also digitize the film with a Wolverine MovieMaker MM100 scanner.
I also show a cleaning method for Super8 film, and discuss how parallax effects an image when recording from a silver screen.
From this video, folks should be able to choose the method of digitizing that would work best for them.
