Congress president Rahul Gandhi arrived in Amritsar late on Friday night. He was received at the airport by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, and went from there straight to the Golden Temple, where they paid their respects at the Sri Akal Takht Sahib- the highest temporal seat of the Sikhs. Rahul will join the Chief Minister in paying floral tributes early on Saturday morning at the Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial to mark the centenary of the tragic event.
