The British government has abandoned its coronavirus tracing app after technical issues significantly reduced the effectiveness of the app.
The Department of Health will work with tech giants to develop new technology after the app failed to identify contacts, particularly on Apple products.
A similar tracing program run on a Google and Apple platform also struggled to establish accurate distances between users, which was a key component of the system.
