Unlock your full micro-machining potential by equipping CoolSpeed on a Fanuc Robodrill! This video shows a Fanuc Robodrill α-DiB series milling machine in-action engraving on a block of aluminum at Methods Machine Tools, Inc.
Coolant was being used to drive the ultra-high-speed spindle. This particular coolant pump was putting out about 175 psi at the spindle delivering speeds of 45,000 RPM. With higher pressures CoolSpeed can obtain spindle speeds up to 80,000 RPM. By increasing your spindle speed by 2x, 3x, 10X... you can greatly improve micro-machining capability and performance as smaller cutting tools often have much higher rpm ratings than what a traditional spindle can provide.
Special thanks to Bill Goransson, Sr. applications engineer, who helped setup and test CoolSpeed. Methods Machine Tools, Inc. is an outstanding company that can help engineer and build turn-key manufacturing solutions to maximize your productivity.
