South Mountain Park and Preserve is a large park in Phoenix, AZ. It is more than 16,000 acres and is one of the largest municipally managed parks in the US. There are hiking trails for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. There are also various locations that have amazing views of Phoenix. I stop and pull over at 3 different overlooks. The first one is Dobbins Lookout. It is the highest publicly accessible point at 2,330 feet. It gives amazing panoramic views of the city. The second one is called Buena Vista Lookout. It has a similar view to Dobbins Lookout. The final stop is Vista Point and is much lower than the other two. It offers a closer view of Phoenix as well.
