First, in Spain, people eat 12 grapes at midnight. Each grape represents good luck for each month of the coming year.
Second, in Denmark, people smash plates on their friends' and family’s doorsteps. The more broken plates, the more luck!
Third, in Ecuador, people burn effigies representing the bad luck of the past year. It’s a way to start fresh.

Fifth, in Brazil, people wear white clothes on New Year’s Eve as a symbol of peace and good fortune.
