This kuttu ka dosa/buckwheat dosa is perfect for fasting this Navratri. Make instant & crispy dosas with this recipe. Since everyone follows different rules for fasting, please adjust the ingredients accordingly. I have provided optional ingredients, if you eat them during fasting, please feel free to add them. Serve with chutney, dahi or aloo sabzi as per preference.
Ingredients for kuttu ka dosa (makes 6-8)
1 cup kuttu ka aata/buckwheat flour
1 cup + 2 tbsp water (approx.), batter should be thick pouring consistency
1/2 -1 tsp sendha namak/rock salt or as per taste
1/4 - 1/2 tsp black pepper powder or as per taste
optional - coriander & green chili
oil/ghee for frying
Instructions for kuttu ka dosa
-In a bowl, add kuttu ka aata.
-Next add water, little at a time, mix properly to remove any lumps.
-Add sendha namak & black pepper powder, mix thoroughly.
-Heat dosa tawa. To test if tawa is hot, sprinkle some water, if the water sizzles, it is right temperature.
-Reduce the flame to low and pour some batter on the tawa.
-Spread evenly with the back of a spoon.
-Increase the flame to medium high, add oil/ghee on the edges of the dosa and on the dosa.
-Cook till golden brown, then turn over. Cook for 30-40 seconds and turn over.
-Remove from tawa.
-Repeat with the remaining batter. Remember to reduce flame to low when pouring batter and increase again after spreading the batter every time.
