In its idyllic beachside location, the St Kilda Esplanade Market is an icon of St Kilda and Melbourne. A world-renowned art and craft makers’ haven, the market has been the destination of choice for those seeking high-quality and authentic Australian products since 1970. Find a range of arts, crafts and other original creations to take home every Sunday from 10am.
Set against the iconic backdrop of St Kilda Beach, Luna Mark and Palais Theatre, our vibrant makers’ market features over 120 unique stalls of hand crafted artwork, wood products, jewellery, accessories and more. An inspiring weekly destination for Melbournians and tourists alike.
Has been a starting platform for new artists to begin their careers. James Egan, now a national living treasure, and Ruth Epps were among the first twenty or so artists to display their work. Soon they were joined by potters, leatherworkers and other artists and craftspeople and the magic of the St Kilda Esplanade Market began. Adam Elliot, Academy Award winning animator and director of Harvey Krumpet, also sold his hand painted t-shirts at the market for five years!
