This video explores a new side of New Brunswick... the underground side! This video shows off an abandoned mine located just outside Sussex New Brunswick.

This particular mine is called Glebe Mine and was abandoned in 1882. The main adit is roughly 150 meters long with a hand full of shafts stretching from the main adit.

BE CAREFUL IF YOU PLAN TO EXPLORE ABANDONED MINES
Although abandoned mines are very enticing to explore (obviously) explore at your own risk, DO NOT explore unless you know what you are doing and are comfortable with your skills to explore.

Few tips for beginners:
1. Helmets will save your brain
2. Flashlights are a MUST
3. Notify someone when you enter the mine and when you plan to leave AND where the mine is located.
4. Spray chalk dust, if it goes sideways your okay, if it goes straight down there is little to no air circulation and you should turn around.
5. Mark your route as you go, paint arrows, arrange rocks or bring string.
