The male Japanese grosbeak has a beautiful song which he continually repeats. When I took these photos, he was not singing. (I attached an exceptional recording made by Peter Boesman near Mt. Fuji from the site, Xeno Canto.) Halfway through the video, the photo of the female starts. She was sitting above and to the right of the male, looking down on him.
