I had travelled to the small town of Mestia in Georgia with one aim; to complete the 60 km trek to Ushguli. The trek was split into 4 days and I would be staying in guesthouses in the most remote townlets in Europe along the way.

Day one of the trek was a 16 km trek to the small townlet of Zhabeshi, 1680 meters above sea level and with a population of less than 100.

It was a difficult start and I was already starting to doubt whether I was fit enough for this 60 km trek. The scenery gave me the strength to power on.

Join me as I trek across the Svaneti region of Georgia and visit some of the smallest townlets in Europe.
