Telangana Panchayat Elections 2018 To be Held in 3 Phases | KCR | TRS | Congress | YOYO TV Channel
State Election Commission (SEC) on Monday held a preparatory meeting on the conduct of local body elections as per schedule and stressed the need for completing the process of elections within 15 days from the date of notification.
The meeting was chaired by SEC V Nagireddy and attended by all department heads. Speaking on the occasion, Nagireddy said the entire election process should be completed within a fortnight and asked various department officials to make arrangements in such a way.
Nagireddy demonstrated the model schedule and conduct of the elections in three phases and wanted all officials to actively take part in the election process as it involved thousands of local bodies. He also said that during his tours of various districts, the district collectors and SPs favoured conducting the elections for gram panchayats in three phases.
The State Election Commissioner explained the detailed schedule of events and said that the notification for the elections and their conduct was provisionally scheduled between June 10-30, and instructed district collectors to begin making all the necessary preparations.
