The Barisal Bulls (Bengali: বরিশাল ষাঁড়) are a franchise cricket team that plays in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), representing the country's Barisal Division. Following the 2015 competition, the Bulls are one of the BPL's six existing members and are expected to participate in the league's 2016 edition. The team is headquartered in the city of Barisal itself, which is on the bank of the Kirtankhola river in south-central Bangladesh, and so is one of two teams playing in the city, alongside the Barisal Division cricket team which is active in first-class cricket. The Bulls play their home matches at the Barisal Divisional Stadium in Barisal. This team was founded in 2012 as Barisal Burners; rebranded in 2015 as Barisal Bulls.
The team was originally established in 2012 for the inaugural BPL season as the Barisal Burners (Bengali: বরিশাল বার্নার্স, often abbreviated as BB). The Burners were the BPL runners-up in 2012. The Burners were one of the teams dissolved in 2013 after the BPL's second edition. The franchise was sold to the current owners Axiom Technologies and rebranded as the Bulls for the 2015 edition. The Bulls were coached by Graham Ford and captained by Mahmudullah Riyad in BPL Season 3 2015 Bangladesh Premier League. Sri Lanka born Australian Dav Whatmore has been appointed as head coach. Bangladesh current test captain Mushfiqur Rahim will play role as captain of BPL Season 4 2016-17 Bangladesh Premier League.
