Ein Partizipationsprojekt von Cathy Milliken, Robyn Schulkowsky und Dietmar Wiesner für die Münchener Biennale

»Im Jahr 2013 wurden wir von Daniel Ott und Manos Tsangaris eingeladen, im neuen Team der Münchener Biennale 2016 mitzuwirken. Auftrag war es, ein Format zu entwickeln, das Konzepte des zeitgenössischen Musiktheaters in München nutzt, um Bürgerinnen und Bürger miteinzubeziehen. Zunächst erstellten wir eine Materialsammlung zu Geographie und Geschichte Münchens, insbesondere des Stadtteils Haidhausen. Außerdem führten wir dort intensive Gespräche mit Menschen unterschiedlichen Alters und verschiedener Herkunft. Daraufhin entschieden wir uns für ein Partizipationsformat - eine Art Volksoper -, durchgeführt und entwickelt von und mit den Menschen dieses Stadtteils. GAACH heißt laut Bayerischem Lexikon »steil« und steht ursprünglich für die Namensgebung des Gasteigs im Ortsteil Haidhausen. Und es ist der Titel eines Kunstprojekts, einer kommunalen Aufführung, die im Rahmen der Münchener Biennale 2016 mit vielen Menschen unterschiedlichster Lebensstationen und kultureller Herkunft im Gasteig stattfinden wird. »GAACH - quasi eine Volksoper« ist ein partizipatorisches Projekt, das heißt alle Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer (von Amateur bis Profi) bestimmen im ständigen Dialog miteinander und mit dem GAACH-Team den Entstehungs-, Entwicklungs- und Aufführungsprozess. Die Volkshochschule ist mit zahlreichen Kursen prominent beteiligt. Der Focus liegt auf Haidhausen: geographisch, literarisch, geschichtlich, ethnologisch und/oder persönlich aus der Perspektive jedes Teilnehmers. Die Abschlussperformance des Partizipationsprojekts »GAACH - quasi eine Volksoper« am 5. Juni 2016 stellt die Mosaikteile eines Stadtteils in seiner Einzigartigkeit dar. Das Projekt transponiert Haidhausen in eine musikalische Partitur, die wiederum in einer installativen Übersetzung räumlich neu aufgebaut wird: als »Original mit Untertiteln« (OmU).
KÜNSTLERISCHE LEITUNG
Cathy Milliken, Dietmar Wiesner, Robyn Schulkowsky
sind seit mehr als drei Jahrzehnten mit gemeinsamen Auftritten weltweit künstlerisch eng verbunden. Seit nunmehr zehn Jahren kollaborieren sie mit professionellen Künstlern und Laien, entwickeln neue Wege von Aufführungspräsentationen, teilen ihre Erfahrungen als SolistInnen, KomponistInnen und DozentInnen sowie ihre Leidenschaft für neue Musikformen der Gegenwart. Zusammen konzipieren sie partizipative Formate und führen sie erfolgreich für Festivals und Konzerthäuser in Ländern wie Griechenland, Deutschland, Österreich, Frankreich, Mexico, Japan, Australien und den USA durch, wobei ihnen das Erforschen künstlerisch hochwertiger Entwicklungsprozesse mit Menschen unterschiedlicher kultureller und sozialer Herkunft ein besonderes Anliegen war und ist.
